For many centuries having large breast has been considered a sign of sensuality by it self and it has had an erotic connotation, which in many cases has been surpassed by the rest of physical attributes nature has provided to women. In the same way many women who have flabby skin and fat concentrated in their abdomen, want to eliminate it. It’s because of this, that more and more women turn to plastic surgery to obtain larger and more beautiful breasts, and to have an abdomen free of fat, and to improve stretch marks.

 

To have a better knowledge about these surgeries, we visited Dr. Jorge Patiño, and this is what he told us:

 

Mamoplastia. -

Breast augmentation surgery is a relatively safe procedure. It is very common for women to think that their breasts are not large enough to feel attractive, for this reason, breast augmentation is one of most demanded procedures. In this way women can have the breast of their dreams; it also represents an excellent alternative for women who have suffered the extirpation of a breast because of cancer.

 

In the constant search of elements that would represent less risk, and at the same time, guarantee satisfactory results, silicon implants filled with gel were discovered; their consistency is very similar to that of the mammary gland. It is this quality that lessens the possibility or developing a complication known as capsular contraction, which causes breast to appear hard, spherical, and painful.

 

 

From an aesthetic point of view, there is no better alternative than the use of implants to increase the size of the breast, for results obtained by methods in which refill material is not used, has not given good results.

One of the most common doubts women have is about the possibility to nurse their babies after having a breast augmentation surgery.

 

 The answer is affirmative; because it should be considered that the material is always placed behind the mammary gland, so this way, the function of the breast is preserved; although, you should know that in some cases breast-feeding can make breast drop a little.

 

On the other hand, some worry about the possibility of loosing sensibility of the breast; it is true that sensibility can change, but few days after the surgery it normalizes, Dr. Patiño told us.

 

Tummy-Tuck or Abdominalplasty

Abdominalplasty is a surgical procedure performed to eliminate the excess skin and fat tissue from the middle and lower abdomen, and which tautens the abdominal walls. The abdominalplasty is not an overweight surgical procedure.  Individuals with overweight, who have the intention of loosing weight, must postpone any type of external corporal surgery, until they are capable of maintaining the weight loss. There are different techniques of abdominalplasty, it can be combined with other body contour surgeries including liposuction, or it can be done at the same time as other elective surgeries.
