Abdomen Aesthetic Surgery (Abdominalplasty)
When patients go to the doctor for an evaluation of their
abdomen, they generally have a very specific idea of what they
want to obtain through surgery: A flat abdomen, without
accumulated fat, and a well defined waist. There are several
surgical alternatives depending on the abdomen, and on what the
patient wants to obtain, these procedures could be:
Liposculpture assisted by ultrasound, liposculpture assisted by
suction, minidermolipectomy with or without liposculpture,
endoscopic minidermolipectomy, abdominalplasty
without a new navel design, or a total abdominalplasty.

The abdominal wall or abdomen is made up of the following
structures: skin, underneath the skin: fat tissue, then the
fascia, and under this the abdominal muscle, which inserts in
the ribs and the hips. Its function is to protect the organs
from external aggressions and at the same time it gives each
gender aesthetic physical characteristics. The shape of the
abdomen is basically given by genetic information and by the
influence of hormones. It is known that this shape can be
modified just by the knowledge that limits exist, each day there
are more ways to reach this objective, starting with the least
expensive: dieting; followed by working out, creams, massages,
mesotherapy, external ultrasound, among others.
There are two types of patients who go to the doctor, those who
have never tried one of the methods mentioned and those who have
already tried something but without results. Even though the two
types of patients have the same ambition, which is to CHANGE THE
SHAPE AND MEASUREMENTS OF THEIR ABDOMEN INSTANTANEOUSLY AND
EFFECTIVELY. Without a doubt, the surgery is the only option to
achieve those changes in half an hour to four hours, depending
on the shape of the abdomen and the surgery.
For any of the surgeries the patient has to be healthy, with
normal results to blood and cardioligical exams. A physical exam
done at the doctor’s office, studying the clinical history,
weighting and measuring of the patient, are important steps
before making the decision. Finally the patient should know the
results of the surgery are definite, although the DURATION of
the changes will depend of the care the patients has. Cares
like the use of girdles, a balanced diet, aerobics, among
others.
