Do you know the importance of a good
rhinoplasty?
It’s more than just the correction of the nose. It’s not
nice to have a nose that doesn’t match your facial structure
and worse if it doesn’t match your gender.
The masculine beauty has well defined characteristics,
especially on the face where straight lines predominate.
Thus the importance of managing correctly the aesthetic and
functional concepts during the interview with the patient
The biophysical analysis of the facial map, the study of the
thirds of the face and the silhouette, will give us the
information that will help to know what to modify and what
has to stay the same. It’s important to know, that the
majority of male patients go to the doctor’s office because
of a respiratory problem, which is related with a Septum
Deviation.
Once all the pre-operative evaluations have been performed,
and after talking with the patient about what is his idea
his own image, we make the diagnose; identifying who are the
patients who shouldn’t undergo surgery, this could be
because the patient has false expectations, or because he
want to solve another type a problem, or simply because he
doesn’t need it.
After this decision and only then, the doctor analysis the
case with the patient, what changes should be done on his
nose, the facial proportions should be considered, the width
of the cheeks and jaw.
If the patient agrees with our surgical plan, then we take
pictures and send him to perform complementary evaluations.
In case the patient is diagnosed with Rhinoseptal
Deviation, then, a trained Plastic Surgeon is capable of
performing the correction of the Septal Deviation and
the bones in just one surgery, refining the anatomy to
obtain a masculine and harmonic nose..

This 23 year old male asked for a rhinoplasty, due to a
dorsal convection and breathing difficulty. The nasal skin
was thin. The prominent dorsal extended from the nasal root
down to the tip of the nose. The angel formed by the upper
lip and the nose was 90º, although, the tip of the nose
looked as if it was hanging, which became more noticeable
when he smiled.

In these pictures you can appreciate the results a year
after the operation (Fig. 2A and 2B). The conservative
rhinoplasty gave as a result a natural looking nose, which
is in proportion with the face, correcting the nose tip, and
the most important, with an optimum function
